The sponge-like skin of this Pokémon is found in all parts of the ocean. How this Pokémon survives in salt water is a mystery.
Sponaree is a medium-sized bug Pokémon that resembles a spider. Its entire body is covered in blue spongy material that stores water. Its head is black and it has four eyes and mandibles. It has six legs with round balls on its knees.
Sponaree's spongy skin stores water. It can float and drift long distances on water currents.
Sponaree are faithful to their trainers and will blindly follow orders without question. In the wild, they share a hive mind with all of the other bugs in Tandor, led by the Seikamater.
All Smore, Sponee, and Tricwe in Tandor originate from the Anthell, a massive underground hive where the Seikamater dwells. Sponee and Sponaree are responsible for carrying water deep into the Anthell so Seikamater can drink. They disperse themselves throughout the region by floating down the Baykal river and out into the ocean.
