Miasmedic (my-AS-med-ik) is a dual-type Fairy/Poison Pokémon.
It evolves from Spritzee when traded holding an Aromatic Herb. It is one of two evolutions of Spritzee, the other is Aromatisse.
It has the ability to both cause and cure disease. Using its claws, it injects pathogens into its foes.
Biology[]
Physiology[]
Miasmedic resembles a 17th century plague doctor. It is a bipedal, avian Pokémon with a purple body. The top of its head somewhat resembles a hat and has two a single green wing-like tuft. It has long arms with green claws, and there are two small wing-like tufts behind them. Its neck and lower body are a slightly lighter purple and its legs are black with two toes. Like it's pre-evolution, it has a white mask around its face, albeit longer and with black surrounding its eyes.
Special Abilities[]
Its claws have pathogens that it can inject into others. However, it is capable of either causing or curing disease.
Aside from Mega Sableye, Miasmedic is tied with Aromatisse for the lowest speed of any fully evolved Pokémon in Uranium.
Despite being an evolved form, Miasmedic, along with Aromatisse, have the highest catch rate (26.1%) of any Pokémon not capable of being caught in the wild outside of a Custom Game (unless you count the normal form of Nupin/Gellin which have a 33.3% catch rate, but can be caught in their Nuclear forms). This catch rate is actually higher than the first stage of many evolution lines with 3 stages such as Barewl, Mankey, Baashaun, etc.
Despite being created as a counterpart to Aromatisse, and Miasmedic being a fully evolved Pokemon, it cannot be taught Hyper Beam or Giga Impact even though Aromatisse can learn both moves.
Design Origin[]
Miasmedic is based off of a plague doctor, as shown by its hook-nosed mask and cloak.
Name Origin[]
Miasmedic is a portmanteau of miasma (an unpleasant scent), and medic.
