Tiko is the Gym Leader of Amatree Town's Gym, the fifth Gym the player must challenge. He is a dancer who specializes in Fire-type Pokémon. He gives the Salsa Badge to trainers who defeat him as well as TM50 (Overheat).

When the player first arrives at Amatree Gym, Tiko is nowhere to be found. A trainer tells the player that he ventured into the Anthell but hasn't been seen for a while and that people are starting to worry. He gives the player Bug Spray to remove the bugs that are blocking the way to Deeper Anthell.
When the player reaches the nest at the center of the Anthell, they find him tied up in a web, helpless. He tells them that his Pokémon were all defeated and asks for the player's help to get free. The player frees him, but immediately afterwards hears a rumbling noise. Bug Pokémon close in from all sides, and the Seikamater reveals herself. The player must then defeat her in battle.
When the player defeats Seikamater, Tiko thanks them for saving his life and tells them to meet him at the Gym.
