Trivia

  • Anderind uses Beartic's cry.
  • Anderind is the only Pokémon that loses a Fairy-type after evolving.
    • This also makes Anderind one of the only Pokémon to lose one type immunity (Dragon) and gain another (Electric) after evolving, the other being Oblivicorn.

Design origin

Anderind is based on a snowboarder and shares characteristics with bears, especially polar bears. Whether by coincidence or design, it also resembles the ICEE mascot.

Name origin

Anderind may be a portmanteau of Andes (the longest continental mountain range in the world, running along the western coast of South America) and grind or wind.
